Have You Seen The Key? (a story/poem thingy/whatever)

It was just like any other day, when
A girl decided to lock her heart.
Heavy chains, heavy padlock,
All to keep her heart from ever breaking.
She turned the key, 'Click!',
And threw the key far, far away.
She smiled to herself with satisfaction, and said,
"Aha! Some peace at last!"
She hid her heart back under the cage
And lived with the heavy burden.
She dragged her footsteps as she walked,
And wondered why she felt such pain.
A day came when her heart finally cried,
"I want to get out! I want to be free!"
The girl tried to tell her restless heart,
"I'm sorry, but I lost the key."
Together the girl and her aching heart
Searched high and low for the misplaced key.
The heart cried again and again,
"Let me out, before I burst and bleed!"
"Have you seen the key?" they asked.
"Have you seen the key to my heart?"
But no one knew where the dreaded key was,
For it was invisible and had no shape.
So the girl weeped as her heart began to die,
The bleeding, withering mess in her hands.
"Have you seen the key?" she sobbed.
"Have you seen the key?"
But in the end, it was to no avail,
The heart died and the girl died too.
So this is the moral of the story:
Never, ever throw a key away.
i know that i have loved you ... at 1:10 AM
